Price your home correctly. |
 |
Be
patient and allow a reasonable amount of time (similar to the
'days on market' range from the MLS) to sell your home. Don’t
give up too soon. |
 |
Offer a reasonable co-fee (2-3%) to agents who bring offers
from qualified buyers. |
 |
Be
available to buyers and agents consistently via cell phone or
home phone, and return calls promptly. |
 |
Use multiple marketing venues to get the word out that your
home is for sale --professional signs, newspaper ads, web
sites, open houses, word-of-mouth, and the Multiple Listing
Service (MLS). |
 |
Use sign-in sheets at Open Houses to determine whether or not
buyers are using an agent to purchase a home. |
 |
Ask for a letter of pre-approval from the buyer before taking
your home 'off the market' and losing valuable marketing time
for a buyer who is not qualified to buy. |
 |
Have necessary paperwork in place and comply with disclosure
requirements about the property. |
 |
Have an attorney in place to advise and protect your interests
in the transaction. |
